Your Opportunity:
This position performs duties requiring a 4th Class Power Engineer certificate, including the operation and monitoring of boilers, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) and building management systems (BMS), in accordance with the standards required by the Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA and Covenant Health (COV. This position is also required to perform a wide variety of general maintenance and repair duties which contribute to safe and efficient facility operations. This includes plumbing, electrical, structural repairs, equipment servicing, etc. Please note: Must be able to travel between various sites/locations; and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Description:
The Power Engineer 4th Class is responsible for assisting with monitoring, repairs and maintenance of plant operations in accordance with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) standards and practices. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 408 St. Michael's Collective Agreement.

A 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented with ability to prioritize. Computer literacy required (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing. Competence with tools, equipment, and test instruments used for maintenance, repair, and system monitoring. Ability to maintain composure and sound judgment in emergencies. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications; locate operational data from manuals. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum two years’ experience in a hospital or long-term care facility environment. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/eFacilities) and building control systems (BCMS/BAS).
