Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:At least three years (3) recent, related Surgical nursing experience is required including experience taking Charge. Committed to safe, effective and ethical patient care and work practices. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment and to deescalate tense situations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to participate as an effective member of and lead the inter-professional team. Good organizational skills as well as problem solving and conflict resolution skills leading to exercising good judgement and decision making. Required to assist with transfers and repositioning of patients. Must be able to independently take a patient assignment as required and respond to a code blue or rapid response. Must stand for long periods and walk for a good portion of the shift. Regularly required to lift in excess of ten (10) pounds.
