Your Opportunity:

The Cardiology Technologist is an essential part of the healthcare team and must possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate in stressful situations, and consistently execute attention to detail in work performance. Responsibilities include Performs 12 lead ECG recordings throughout the Grey Nuns Community Hospital. Perform cardiac exercise stress testing (Persantine, MIBI, or Dobutamine stress tests) under the supervision of either the attending physician or the Cardiac Nurse Practitioner. Apply, initiate, download, scan, and report on holter monitors. Apply, initiate, educate, and download arrhythmia monitor recordings. Strong knowledge and ability to accurately interpret various cardiac rhythms and promptly report abnormalities immediately requiring attention to the attending physician. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment utilized within the department. Implement professional, respectful, and compassionate patient care by thoroughly explaining the test/procedure to patients, easing patient anxieties, and answering questions in relation to the exam. Maintains clean work area and equipment by ensuring the workspace is properly supplied, equipped, and operational before, during, and following each shift. Effectively implementing strong multitasking and communication skills with colleagues, patients, and staff members.

Description: The Cardiology Technologist I performs ECG tests and carries out recording and reporting of test results. This position operates, maintains and troubleshoots service equipment. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: - Graduate of recognized educational institution for Cardiology Technologist - ASRCT Registration - CSCT Registration - Basic Life Support Level C (CPR Basic Recruiter)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must maintain mandatory continuing essential education as per Covenant Health. Current Basic Life Support Level C. Current N95 fit test. Comply with the following: Health Professions Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), Protection of Persons in Care Act, and Health Information Act. Recent related experience within an acute care facility with a strong background in 12-lead and 15-lead ECG’s and Holter Monitors.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Connect Care, GE Case, CardioDay, MUSE, and Phillips ECG machines. Successful passing of CSCT exam. Minimum one year recent experience as a Cardiology Technologist within an acute care facility preferred.
