One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Unit Clerk Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. Medical office terminology. Minimum 2 years experience as a unit clerk in an acute care setting. Computer proficiency and minimum typing speed of 45 w.p.m. Experience with computerized software programs: Microsoft office (Word and Excel), VAX, Meditech. Proven prioritization skills to meet the ever changing needs of the unit or department. Proven ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and telephone communication). Proficiency in spelling, grammar and punctuation required. Must be able to withstand constant interruptions in work flow. Must be able to push, pull and lift boxes of office supplies (including paper) on a regular basis. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to work a rotating shift pattern.
Preferred Qualifications:Training and experience with eCritical and or Connect Care electronic medical records. Previous intensive care or neonatal intensive care experience.
