One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Related post-secondary courses in Medical Office Assistant/Unit Clerk/Medical Transcription or related. Grade 12 or recognized equivalent required. Completion of a course in Medical Terminology required. Strong word-processing skills and a typing speed of 60 wpm. Advanced editing and proofreading skills. Ability to multi-task. One year experience in a medical office environment typing medical documents and maintaining patient files. Strong Computer and software skills. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel required. Attention to Detail.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with electronic medical records (Med Access EMR) preferred. Exceptional telephone and customer service skills. High volume Electronic Document Distribution, faxing experience. Excellent organizational, inter-professional and communication skills required. Able to work well under stress of a continuous workflow with frequent interruptions.
