Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Unit Manager for the Family Medicine Center, the Clerk IV is responsible for provisions of clerical support working collaboratively with staff, physicians and residents. The clerk supports a full range of skills and duties which include: monitoring, coordinating, and maintaining clinic schedules for all clinic physicians. Interacts daily with patients in person and on the phone. Performs clerical and reception functions, screening and scheduling of patient appointments. Other duties include necessary clerical skills supported by computer knowledge (Med Access), processing and preparation of patient documents, maintaining inventory and ordering of office supplies and/or ordering equipment repairs, chart maintenance, and other related duties as required in accordance with Covenant Health’s Mission, Vision, Values and policy and procedures. The Clerk IV provides complex clerical support. The Clerk IV performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 or recognized equivalent required. Completion of a Medical Office Administration Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution required OR 5 years recent equivalent experience in appointment booking and reception in a physician office or medical clinic setting.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of a course in medical terminology. BLS level C with AED provider. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred. Experience with electronic medical records preferred. Excellent organizational, inter-professional and communication skills required. Able to work well under stress of a continuous workflow with frequent interruptions.
