Clinical research is important in this field of practice, and the care of patients registered on research trials is an important part of the role. Clinical Assistants are responsible for examining patients, completing documentation and consulting with the supervising Physician to create treatment plans and order management. Description:

In this position, Clinical Assistants get an opportunity to provide patient oversight, evaluation and medical management. Reporting to their supervising Physician, the Clinical Assistant responds to related consultation requests in the Department of Medicine and performs the patient admission history and physical examination. The Clinical Assistant will be responsible for reviewing all assigned patient cases on a regular basis with their supervising Physician. They are expected to follow the clinical pathways, guidelines and protocols. Required Qualifications:

Have a Current Limited Practice Register - Clinical Assist License or meet CPSA eligibility requirements for limited practice register licensing which will require the following documents to be loaded into Physicians apply and shared with Covenant Health. Open to International Medical Graduates who meet pre-screening requirements: Medical Degree, including certificate and transcripts. Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME) Certificate. English Language Proficiency IELTS or OET Medicine examination or CELPIP General Examination Test Results within 24 months. MCCQE Part 1 Statement of Results. Currency of Practice; Applicants must provide evidence of 6 months of being in discipline-specific postgraduate training or discipline-specific independent practice within the last 30 months.


Additional Required Qualifications:

This position is conditional upon successful completion of the CPSA assessment and obtaining your Limited Practice Register - Clinical Assist License. Eligibility to work in Canada. Excellent, current knowledge in all aspects of providing clinical support to physicians. Must be able to maintain privacy, dignity, confidentiality and morale of all concerned. Computer skills essential.


Preferred Qualifications:

It is anticipated this will be a highly competitive job posting. Preference will be given to applicants who have recent experience in an acute care facility; specifically, those who have had experience within the last 3 years in Medicine.
