Required Qualifications:

Completion of a post-secondary program (diploma or certificate) in communications or public relations required. Minimum two years of professional communications experience required or more than 5 years of experience in administrative position that included communications responsibilities and required. Excellent communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communications required. Excellent grammar, spelling, formatting and proofreading skills required. Independent thinker and strong problem solving skills required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Membership in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) or the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) is encouraged. Experience and/or knowledge of media relations an asset. Experience with web-based communications or social media an asset. Project and/or publications management an asset. Experience using content management systems an asset. Meeting and events management experience an asset. Proven attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent writing skills, including writing for the web and other media. Ability to handle internal/external contacts with sensitivity and professionalism. Computer proficiency in a Windows environment using MS Office Suite (must be proficient in PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Word).
