Description:
Description: Under the direction of Protective Services Supervisor, the Community Peace Officer provides security for all patients, staff and visitors. The officer also protects all properties belonging to the hospital and ensures that security related complaints are properly investigated and the facts are reported to the hospital management for appropriate action. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 and a recognized Diploma related to Police Studies, Security or Criminology or equivalent required. Valid First Aid Certificate and Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Required to be in good physical condition and provide proof of successful completion of Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) Must possess a valid operator's license and provide a clear criminal records check for which a pardon has not been granted, and have no charges pending before the courts.

Preferred Qualifications:Preference given to candidates with current Community Peace Officer Certification.
