Covenant Health is seeking a dynamic Patient & Resident Engagement Consultant to join our team and help shape the future of engagement across our organization. In this role, you will lead strategic initiatives that embed patient and resident voices into care delivery, policy development, and quality improvement. You’ll coordinate the Covenant Partner Program, the Patient and Resident Family Advisory Council, and facilitate education that builds capacity for engagement across all levels of leadership. You’ll also monitor and evaluate engagement data to inform continuous improvement and ensure alignment with provincial standards and Covenant Health’s strategic goals. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with leaders, physicians, and external partners such as Alberta Health Services, while influencing culture and practice across diverse care environments. Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Patient & Resident Experience, the Patient & Resident Engagement Consultant plays a pivotal role in advancing person-centred care across Covenant Health. This position provides strategic consultation and operational support to integrate patient, resident, and family perspectives into care delivery and organizational decision-making. The Consultant leads the coordination of the Covenant Partner Program, including recruitment, onboarding, and support of patient and family advisors. They facilitate engagement education, monitor engagement metrics, and support the development of policies and practices aligned with best practices and accreditation standards. The role also includes planning and executing engagement events such as Patient and Family Centred Care Week and educational summits. Working independently and collaboratively, the Consultant engages with internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of partnership and continuous improvement. Travel to Covenant Health sites is required to support engagement activities and build relationships across the organization. This position is non-unionized.

Master’s degree in clinical discipline, allied health or health-related discipline such as public health, health care administration, or other relevant degree is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience in health services delivery. Demonstrated success in working with stakeholders to improve patient and or resident engagement and outcomes. Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver on multiple, complex major initiatives and projects. Knowledge of current state approaches to successful patient and resident engagement to improve outcomes. Demonstrated success and passion for working with stakeholders to improve patient and resident engagement and outcomes. Facilitation and training/education experience and proficiency. Must demonstrate compassion, respect, collaboration, social justice, integrity and stewardship to align with Covenant Health values. Knowledge and awareness of diverse health environments/systems. Strong clear communicator with ability to build positive collaborative relationships at all levels. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Analytical, evaluation and research skills, including familiarity with healthcare quality metrics. Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver on multiple, complex projects to success. Ability to relate to diverse age, cultural and demographic backgrounds. Ability to operate related equipment and excellent proficiency in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to work independently and manage ambiguity.
