Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Program Officer for Surgery, the Patient Safety Consultant provides leadership and guidance in clinical practice and patient care in the Surgery Portfolio. This position holds a high degree of independence to coordinate, facilitate, develop, implement and evaluate surgical quality improvement.
Description:
The Patient Safety Consultant functions as a leader, innovator and change agent in pursuit of excellent, family-centered care. The Patient Safety Consultant is accountable for participating in planning and the implementation of program-based quality improvement initiatives. Specific functions include Project Management Support, Issue Management, Planning, Administrative Support, and Clinical Practice and Research. This position is non-unionized.

Baccalaureate degree from a health-related discipline. Active registration with relevant college required. Five (5) years related health care experience required. Varied experience in planning, budgeting and operations coordination required. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Covenant Health's mission, vision and values. Effective interpersonal, communication, public relations, writing and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to make decisions based on analysis and good judgment. Strong commitments to customer satisfaction and quality health care. Effective change management skills. Familiarity with medical terminology a definite asset. Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, collaboration, and partnership. Strong skills with Microsoft computer software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (degree in progress is acceptable).
