Required Qualifications:

Formal Education: Undergraduate Degree, Graduate Degree or other relevant post-secondary education related to Fire Science and/ or occupational construction safety. Safety Codes Officer Fire Level 1- Fire Discipline. NFPA 1001- Professional Fire Fighter, 1031- Fire inspector Level 1. ICS 100, 200, 300. Required to travel to all Provincial sites. Required to be able to respond to investigate fire incidents which may involve limited exposures to hazardous environments. Knowledge of these environments is essential.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong knowledge of regulatory standards in the health care field including a thorough knowledge of the Alberta Safety Codes Act, Alberta Fire Code and Alberta Building Code, Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS. Knowledge of health facility fire procedures and fire prevention programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Strong leadership and effective interpersonal skills required. Strong computer skill required. Experience in court preparation and processes required. Experience in continuity of evidence required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 5 years working experience in the fire field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in health care desired.
