Required Qualifications:

Formal Education: Grade XII diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor of Commerce Degree or equivalent required. Completion of recognized accounting designation (CPA) required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in progressively senior roles. Experience in a large not-for-profit setting considered an asset. Special Knowledge/Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical skills. Demonstrated experience leading teams through change. Sound proficiency with Raiser’s Edge and accounting software applications, particularly Financial Edge and Sage products. Advanced knowledge of charitable industry, including accounting standards, CRA metrics, and Charitable Fundraising Act of Alberta requirements. Good presentation skills to represent the Foundation with external contacts and to provide advisory services to the CEO, Board of Directors and committees of the Board. High proficiency in use of computers and related software. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of financial and statistical methodologies and practices. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Willingness to accommodate occasional travel.
