Required Qualifications: A Journeyman certificate is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 or equivalent. Must have Journeyman Cook papers. WHMIS. Minimum 1-year recent institutional cooking experience. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Basic knowledge of regular, texture modified and special therapeutic diets. Able to work independently, yet still capable of working as part of a team. Able to follow directions and guidelines. Must have excellent time management skills: able to plan for deadlines. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate high standards of cleanliness and standards.
Preferred Qualifications:Occasionally required to lift weights up to 20kg. Exposure to temperature changes in work areas. Required to operate electrical equipment. Exposure to noise and vibrations. Required to stand for entire work shift. Hands in water for long periods of time. Must be able to work holidays/weekends and flexible hours as work load demands.
