Required Qualifications:

Completion of a diploma in a related field or equivalent. Architecture, Building, Design, Engineering, Biomedical, or Urban Planning. 3 years' minimum work experience in a field noted above is required. Equivalent qualifications will be considered. Well-developed interpersonal (influence, persuasion, negotiation, leadership and communication) skills are required for this position. Must possess excellent office desktop software skills. As a supporting position, you will handle project administrative tasks to keep the project running smoothly, an extensive knowledge and superior working capability of excel and training with project management related software is required. Superior organizational skills: ability to triage work; set priorities with the ability to multi-task under pressure in a complex environment; ability to plan and communicate with above average skill. Understanding of building code, construction standards, construction procurement, inspection and testing requirements are required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge and understanding of the construction industry and project management practices and processes. Ability to interpret construction drawings and construction specifications. Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate activities. Ability to communicate effectively. Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team setting. Collaborative nature and strong initiative required. This position deals with a diversity of specialized clients, stakeholders and technical information in a complex, multi-faceted operational environment. There is considerable skill needed to balance diverse and, often, conflicting interests and requirements within approved budgets. The Project Coordinator needs to be sensitive to the political and organizational climate and know where to go for information to resolve issues. Travel is required and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications:

4-7 years of construction or project management experience, preference for hospital or healthcare facility construction. A PMP/CAPM designation, or ability to achieve one, associated in the Building Infrastructure Industry, Space management, Biomedical/Equipment area is an asset. Journeyman Trade, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Design (IDT), Urban or Space Planning, experience would be an asset.
