Required Qualifications:

Related post-secondary degree (e.g. Nursing, Health Administration, Practical Nursing, Paramedical diploma) plus 3-5 years clinical health care experience. Active license with professional organization (if applicable). Valid Driver’s License. Equivalencies in Education and Experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

3-5 years clinical health care experience, including an understanding of the various components of patient/resident care (i.e. charting). Understanding of the role and importance of clinical safety and infection control and practice within health care. A working knowledge and understanding of change management principles and quality improvement processes (such as Lean methodologies). Understanding the role and importance of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), Emergency Disaster Management (EDM) and Accreditation Canada in the healthcare environment. Ability to implement, evaluate and provide ongoing monitoring support for site clinical safety initiatives. Strong project coordination, public speaking, facilitation and interpersonal skills required, with the ability to conduct effective presentations and keep multiple initiatives on track. Ability to problem solve, think critically and develop action plans to ensure successful implementation of clinical safety initiatives. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient with computer programs in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet. Ability to work under pressure and with tight timelines. Conflict resolution skills; ability to handle stressful situation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of the IPAC Canada Novice Infection Prevention and Control course. Previous quality and infection practice and control related experience strongly preferred. Previous Occupational Health and Safety Experience Preferred
