Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition accredited by the College of Dietitian's of Alberta (CDA) is required. Active registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta required. Successful completion of an internship program or practicum training program that is accredited by the Dietitians of Canada is required
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum three (3) years recent experience in clinical dietic or community nutrition, with a focus on diabetes and group teaching experience. Must be able to assess patients' changing educational and nutritional needs as disease progresses. Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary health care team. Proficient in group teaching and individual counselling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Innovativeness in teaching methods and development of teaching aides. Insulin pump experience and training. Certification with the Canadian Diabetes Association as a Diabetes Educator preferred.
