Your Opportunity:
As an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, the Educator transfers evidence and research about menopause and osteoporosis to make it practical and relevant for each individual client. This involves reshaping and adapting the content, so it resonates with each individual recipient, and supports them to make informed decisions about menopause and osteoporosis management. In addition to providing and interpreting health information, the Educator also completes health risk assessment and counselling, lifestyle review, coaching, group class facilitation, telephone follow up and appropriate documentation.
Description:
The Educator assists with the planning, implementation and operation of other Women’s Wellness program components including community outreach, research, conference planning and evaluation. The Educator coordinates and manages special projects, research initiatives and community collaboration initiatives as appropriate. This position is non-unionized.

2-3 years in health care required with a focus on Health Promotion / Community Development. Experience in program planning, development and evaluation. Individual and group health education experience. Willingness to complete Menopause Society Certified Practitioner certificate within 2 years of accepting employment in the area. Self-directive/motivated. Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong organizational abilities. Proven assessment skills to enhance health education. Works effectively with various professionals, community groups and the public. Strong public relations and communication skills; excellent oral and written communication skills. Flexible and open to ideas and new concepts. Works as a team player; able to respond to rapidly changing demand. Conflict management skills. Working knowledge of Connect Care, Microsoft Office, Internet, Netcare and Zoom.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree required in health related or community development-related discipline. Active registration in related professional college or association.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in motivational interviewing is an asset. Menopause Society Certified Practitioner Previous experience as Menopause and/or Osteoporosis Educator.
