The Housekeeping Worker I is responsible for providing care through professional cleaning and disinfection services in accordance with the established operating standards, policies, and procedures of Covenant Health and Banff Mineral Springs Hospital. This role is accountable for performing duties in alignment with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values. Housekeeping Workers interact compassionately and respectfully with patients, residents, visitors, co-workers, supervisors, and managers while helping create an environment that supports healing, comfort, and quality care. Description: The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting public, patient and office areas including the collection of waste. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg).Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a commitment to creating positive experiences for patients, residents, visitors, and colleagues. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to follow established procedures, guidelines, and infection prevention and control practices. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety. Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate honesty, professionalism, and integrity in all aspects of work. computer proficiency, as a significant portion of orientation, education, and ongoing training is completed online. Ability and willingness to learn and perform specialized cleaning procedures in healthcare environments, including patient rooms, isolation rooms, and operating room areas. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

WHMIS certification preferred. Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or healthcare cleaning experience is an asset. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Familiarity with infection prevention and control practices is an asset. Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
