A High School diploma or recognized equivalent is required. A related certificate in adult education is preferred. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Certification (Level C) Health Care Provider required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must be capable of carrying out the physical aspects of the job including frequent standing, repetitive bending at the waist and knee level, repetitive squatting of the knees to work on hands and knees on the mats on the floor, and repetitive lifting of mannequin dolls. Other physical requirements include transporting equipment (up to 50 pounds), audio/visual equipment, and supplies through narrow spaces in hallways and classrooms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous BLS instruction experience preferred. Excellent communication, public relations and organization skills. Effective time management skills. Ability to interact effectively with participants and instructors. Ability to adjust daily schedule on short notice. Able to answer numerous questions related to the subject matter. Must be prepared to be flexible and innovative. Must demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills and have strong problem solving abilities.
