Special Requirements: Must be able to cope with high noise levels during meal service. Operation of computerized cash registers and associated computer programs. Occasionally required to lift weights up to 25lbs. Good manual and visual dexterity. Significant periods of standing during the majority of shift. Exposure to various chemical compounds and cleaners; some which require special handling. Must be able to work holidays, weekends and flexible hours as workload demands. Description:

Description: The Food Services Attendant I portions, packages and/or serves food items according to menu, diet protocol, portion control and temperature standards within an acute care or continuing care setting. The position is also responsible for cleaning equipment, supplies and surfaces throughout the kitchen. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Grade 10 or recognized equivalent. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Must display excellent communication and selling skills. Must demonstrate the ability to do math calculations. Must display excellent public relations and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently an as part of a team. Display superior composure, tact and a pleasant disposition to patrons at all times. Possess high standards of accuracy. Must have high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Must be honest and reliable.

Preferred Qualifications:

WHMIS. Food Safe. Previous food service experience in an institutional setting. Proficiency in computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets and database. Related experience in an institution setting.
