We’re looking for a Food Service Worker to join our Nutrition and Food Services department at Banff Mineral Springs Hospital. This is a full-time temporary position where you’ll play a key role in making a difference every day for patients and long-term care residents. What You’ll Do: Serve meals and prepare snacks with care, following dietary guidelines and safety standards. Communicate diet information accurately from system diet reports to the kitchen. Assist with simple food prep (snacks, smoothies, thickened fluids). Deliver and pick up meals for patients and residents. Monitor inventory, stock supplies, and handle cafeteria transactions. Work independently and as part of a team to ensure excellent service. What We’re Looking For: Customer service experience, ideally in hospitality or food services. Ability to work early mornings (6:30 AM – 2:45 PM) and afternoon/evening shifts (11:15 AM – 7:30 PM). A positive attitude and commitment to compassionate care. Reliability and attention to detail. Description: The Food Service Worker portions, packages and/or serves food items according to menu, diet protocol, portion control and temperature standards within an acute care or continuing care setting. The position is also responsible for washing and putting away dishes and cleaning kitchen and surfaces throughout the kitchen. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English-applicants may be requested to complete a literacy test. Competent computer skills as a good portion of training, education, scheduling, and payroll applications are on-line. Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations. Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and guidelines. High standards for cleanliness and sanitation. High levels of honesty and integrity. Clear Criminal Record Check.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous food service experience in a care facility or institutional food service setting, desired. Previous food service experience in a restaurant/cafeteria setting or customer service experience may be considered desirable in combination with other qualifications. WHMIS Certificate, desired. Food Safe Certificate, desired. Customer Service coursework, desired.
