Your Opportunity:
The Access & Disclosure Specialist is responsible for responding to requests for patient information from patients, third party requesters such as law firms and insurance companies, other health care providers and other authorized users. The incumbent must be knowledgeable regarding legislation, hospital and department policies and procedures which govern release of information. This position deals with a variety of clients effectively and facilitates positive customer service. This position prepares charts for court upon receipt of subpoena and court orders. The Access & Disclosure Specialist works closely with Covenant Health Legal team.

Description: The Health Information Management Professional I is responsible for reviewing patient records for the purpose of classifying diagnoses and interventions, collecting and maintaining patient data. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Graduate from a Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) recognized program for Health Information Management Professionals required. Registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Access and Disclosure experience preferred. Connect Care knowledge.
