Description: The Housekeeping Attendant I is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting public, patient and office areas including the collection of waste. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 10. Ability to perform specialized cleaning procedures in isolation areas (patient rooms, isolation rooms). Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to lift 25 pounds above shoulder height. Frequently required to lift weights up to 30 pounds (13.6 kg). Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations. Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and guidelines. High standards for cleanliness and sanitation with strong attention to detail. Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and high levels of honesty and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12. Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare setting. Basic computer skills. WHIMIS certificate.
