High School Diploma required. Certification as a Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, Plumber or Gasfitter required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of two [2] years’ experience HVAC in a commercial industrial setting with a sound knowledge/background in a hospital and/or institutional environment is required. Minimum of two [2] years’ experience Journeyman Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic is required. Must be able to perform a wide range of duties. Must be able to interpret blueprints and written specifications. Must possess a thorough knowledge of CSA refrigeration & HVAC codes. Must be familiar with Alberta Building, Plumbing & Electrical codes. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be able to work independently. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in the use of computers.
Preferred Qualifications:Training in the theory of various air distribution systems as well as practical training relating to air balancing and filtering of ventilation systems is preferred.
