Description: The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Additional Required Qualifications:3 years of mental health nursing experience. Able to work independently. Is flexible, highly motivated, self-directed, with excellent conflict resolution and organization skills. Proficient in computer skills. Understanding of the clinical learning systems (Clic/MLL) and the use of Connect Care. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Able to creatively guide and coach staff in their clinical development through orientation, in services and mentoring. Liaise regionally with colleagues and other educational institutions. Can present to large diverse group of professionals. Participate and promote clinical nursing and medical research (policies, procedures and protocols).
Preferred Qualifications:Non Violent Crisis Intervention instructor certification. Neuro-modulation experience in the treatment room and recovery of ECT patients. Be-Lite Instructor and Hand hygiene auditor experience. IV initiation, and the care and maintenance of central access devices.
