Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of five years of recent experience in Labour and Delivery. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification. Current Fetal Health Surveillance certification. Clinical leadership experience (for example: Team lead, Charge nurse, Assistant Head Nurse). Previous experience with teaching/ instructing in Women's Health i.e. NRP, FHS, prenatal classes, or nursing final preceptorship students. Must be proficient working in a computerized environment and using various communication technologies. Ability to work front line on Labour and Delivery; able to conduct Registered Nurse duties independently as needed for supervision and unit support. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Be self-motivated, self-directed and able to implement resolutions; must have excellent problem-solving skills. Be flexible, tactful with a positive reinforcement style and excellent conflict resolution skills. Demonstrate effective collaboration within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Certified Fetal Health Surveillance instructor preferred. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider instructor preferred. Training and or experience in clinical or adult education an asset. Experience with the development and delivery of nursing education an asset. Current or previous committee participation or involvement in new initiative role out in clinical care setting preferred.
