Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:At least 3 years current Operating Room nursing experience required. Open, tactful and honest interpersonal relationship skills. Excellent communication; verbal skills. Advocate of staff, patients, families and Covenant Health Core Values. Self-motivated, self-directed. Conflict resolution skills. Able to set priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Clinical role model. Willingness to participate in education initiatives relevant to the role. Ability to identify problems, suggest resolutions and implement same. Strong computer skills (i.e. power point, excel, e-mail, word, charting). Exceptional leadership attributes. Strong presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Post graduate operating room nursing course preferred. Critical care experience an asset. Post Anesthetic Care Unit experience preferred. Active member of ORNAC preferred. Experience with developing learning plans for students. Prior charge nurse experience.
