Required Qualifications: Completion of Baccalaureate degree in a Business or related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible professional HR/LR experience in a heavily unionized environment, preferably healthcare. Minimum two (2) years of these at a Senior Advisor level preferred. Participation in bargaining preferred.
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of collective agreements, employment legislation and caselaw, and related concepts (e.g., Employment Standards, Human Rights, Duty to Accommodate, Essential Services, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and listening skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a co-operative, respectful, and sensitive manner with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including all levels of the organization. Discretion, diplomacy and tact are essential, as are strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills. Strong commitment to participation within a collaborative team environment. Skilled at working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Ability to identify inconsistencies and discrepancies that are not obvious. Computer literacy including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and the Internet. Understanding and commitment to Covenant mission, vision, and values.
