Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

5-7 years of HIM related healthcare experience, across various domains of practice. Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to inspire and build confidence in others, support negotiations, resolve conflict and solve problems. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Advanced technical skills working with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project). Knowledge of computer technology and clinical information systems applications. Analytical and conceptual skills to interpret and consolidate diverse and complex information. Excellent written communication skills, with ability to write concisely and present information appropriate to the target audience. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including ability to make formal presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Health Information Management, Health Information Administration or other healthcare related business degree. Health informatics knowledge and experience an asset. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Project Management experience. Change Management or Lean education/ experience. 1-3 years of Supervisory/ leadership experience.
