Covenant Health’s Rural Acute, Mental Health & Addictions has an opening for a La Crete Operational Readiness Lead. This position will act as a liaison between the Alberta Infrastructure Project Manager and Covenant Health, AHS and other provincial program representatives. They will support both clinical services planning and coordinate operational readiness, to ensure client needs are met throughout the project. Specifically, the Lead is responsible for gathering information and developing documentation to support various phases of the project, e.g. needs assessment, business case, functional programs, etc. We are in search for that individual who has a proven track in managing largescale external stakeholders in ways that support organizational plans; can make ethical decisions and result-oriented recommendations. You foster an engaging environment while aiding program development and execution. This position will also lead/monitor program planning & performance, support change and drive continuous improvement. Description:

This Lead position would play a crucial role in the operational readiness and commissioning of the new LCMCHC (La Crete Medical Centre and Health Centre). They are responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading activities related to the transition and operationalization of the new space. This includes developing workflows and administrative processes for staff, physicians, and other impacted teams, such as food and nutrition, supply management, pharmacy, laboratory and diagnostic services, EMS, and equipment. The Lead also facilitates stakeholder consultations and collaborates with various internal and external teams. They will support decision making at various committees and manage the interface between all stakeholders at different stages of the project; Coordinate operational cost impact assessments, operational commissioning and be involved with post occupancy evaluation / building performance evaluation of the major capital projects; Identify and positively influence identified barriers to the proposed change (i.e. risk management); Ensure plans are operationalized and implemented within pre-determined timelines as defined by assigned projects, etc. The position requires a diverse set of skills, including stakeholder engagement, effective communication, time and resource management, adaptability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The Lead position is a fulltime temporary position (December 2027). Candidate must be willing to travel within Alberta and will be based in Edmonton. This is a non-unionized position.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, with preference given to health-related discipline is required. Minimum 5-7 years in a clinical or health care environment, with strong preference for experience in an Emergency Care setting required. Knowledge and/or experience in Change Management, performance measurement, project management and process improvement methodologies. Equivalences will be considered for the right candidate.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to lead complex, organization-wide transformation/integration initiatives from planning, implementation, evaluation and ongoing monitoring support; while considering time-frame and outcome implications of strategies and other component. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, motivation and guidance while demonstrating a commitment to operational excellence. Proven knowledge and expertise in stakeholder management, analytical capabilities, relationship building, communication skills and conflict resolution. Commitment to Covenant Health Mission and Values. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment to develop and achieve shared goals and objectives. Ability to effectively communicate using tact and diplomacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in HealthCare or a business-related field. Certification in Project Management, LEAN Six Sigma, and/or Change Management. Superior knowledge in time management, problem solving, strategic thinking, scenario building and analysis. Excellent collaboration skills. Self-directed, flexible and able to work with minimal supervision. Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools. Excellent written, verbal and presentations skills.
