The Supportive Living Level 4 – Dementia program is the premier supportive living program in Southern Alberta. It consists of 48 Supportive Living beds dedicated to dementia care, 12 of which are specific to male residents. In addition, for caring for our residents, we approach our work as a vocation – a calling. In essence, we work where our residents live. LPNs are part of the greater Supportive Living team that include LPNs, HCAs, Occupational Therapist, Recreation Therapist, Therapy Assistants, Social Worker, Home Care Case Managers, Nurse Practitioner and Family Physicians. In Supportive Living, there is always an LPN available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, onsite and in the department. Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.
