Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Two years of Addictions and/or Mental Health experience within the last 3 years. 2 years' experience in emergency or acute in-patient unit. New grads who have completed a final preceptorship in an Addiction and/or Mental Health site or emergency may be considered. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Understanding of CIWA and COWS/management of acute substance withdrawal. Experience in various risk assessments (i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, VAST, Domestic Violence screening).
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. Connect Care trained. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques preferred.
