Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in mental health or related settings required. Ability to work effectively both as a collaborative team member and independently. Ability to perform confidently in a fast-paced, highly acute clinical environment. Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient status. Excellent communication skills with the capacity to adapt communication style to meet diverse needs. Excellent time management, organizational and conflict resolution abilities required. Demonstrated reliability and dependability in all aspects of practice. Ability to remain objective and grounded when making clinical decisions. Proactive approach to identifying learning needs and maintaining current competencies required.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of community mental health and addictions resources and programs preferred. Excellent attendance record and personal suitability demonstrated through employment record and references preferred.
