Your Opportunity:
The Laundry Services department at Banff Mineral Springs Hospital is a multi-service facility that makes a difference every day in the lives of over 40 patients and long-term care residents by and stocking clean linen and collecting soiled linen. The Laundry Worker II processes residents’ personal laundry, kitchen laundry, and some specialized linens. The Laundry Worker II monitors amounts of linen used, attaches heat labels to some linen items and places online laundry orders. This is a part-time position with an FTE of 0.54, you will work 41.75 hours every 2 weeks. You will be assigned seven shifts in two weeks, working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday one week and Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday the second week. The shifts start at 07:00am and end at 1:15pm or 2:00pm. The Laundry Worker II is responsible for the provision of care in accordance with established operating standards, the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health and the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital. The Laundry Worker I interacts compassionately and respectfully with patients, residents, co-workers’, supervisors and managers.

Description: The Laundry Worker II gathers, sorts, processes, repairs, presses, stacks and/or stores linens and garments. The work includes the transportation of clean and soiled linen and the use of washing and drying equipment. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; required. Proficient computer skills; required. Frequently required to lift weights up to 30 pounds (13.6 kg). Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and guidelines. High standards for cleanliness and sanitation. Demonstrates high levels of honesty and integrity. Must be able to work in a busy and fast paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with industrial laundry equipment; desired. WHMIS training preferred.
