Current Alberta Journeyman Certificate in one or more building trades; Mechanical Structural or Electrical required. Or a Current Third Class Power Engineering Certificate required. Or a Engineering Technology Diploma required. Current working knowledge of building code requirements for a hospital or similar setting preferred. Supplemental post secondary education such as Supervisory Development/Management/Administration an asset.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Five years’ experience at the Journeyman Trade, Third Class Power Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of two years supervisory experience in a union hospital or similar setting is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Alberta fire and building codes. Training in Emergency Preparedness. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and written specifications. Working knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system. Proficiency in Microsoft computer programs specifically; Outlook, Word, Excel . AutoCAD and Oracle experience an asset. Ability to identify and customize communication to various levels an asset.
