Formal Education: Bachelors’ Degree from a recognized institution in a health related field or business administration preferred or Diploma from a recognized institution in a health related field or business administration with minimum 5 years related experience using scheduling systems in a 24 hour service environment preferred. Experience: Three (3) years previous supervisory, managerial experience, preferably in health care Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in a health care setting. Previous experience with ESP staff scheduling, provisions in collective agreements and payroll is an asset.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge and experience using, interpreting and complying with applicable collective agreement provisions required. Previous scheduling experience using ESP or an equivalent system is preferred. Knowledge of the hospital and the operation of its services within the specific areas covered by the staffing office an asset. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills required. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Able to exercise strong leadership and sound decision making, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work as a team member. Able to demonstrate strong team building skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people. Ability to demonstrate professional, courteous and prompt customer service. Demonstrated ability to follow-through on issues, actions, plans and decisions in a timely manner. Must be flexible and able to deal with stressful situations and short timelines. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information. Ability to function in an environment of complexity and change, and to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
