Sound theological/religious studies preparation obtained from a recognized theological college. Completion of a Master's degree in theological/religious studies. Advanced Status in Supervised Spiritual Education (SPE) Clinical Spiritual Education (CPE). Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting. Experience in individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy. Covenant Health Leadership Program required. Minimum of one year of related experience in an institutional ministry. Prior supervisory and team coordination experiences. Certification with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Practice and Education (CAPPE/ACPEP) required. A letter of endorsement from respective religious community. Membership with CAPPE/ACPEP.

Knowledge of adult education principles and patient/resident spiritual care. Knowledge of Covenant Health’s structure, facilities, resources, patient care programs, and services. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices, assessment processes, procedures, and program evaluation, and computer skills using MS Word and MS Windows. Basic developmental & interpretive knowledge of contracts and agreements, business planning, modeling, concepts and tools, and project management. Communication, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills. Exceptional analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills. Ability to lead teams. Results orientated management style. Ability to thrive in a changing environment. Maintains confidentiality and protect sensitive data. Adheres to organizational and departmental specific safety standards and guidelines. Works collaboratively and supports efforts of team members. Open and supportive with a diverse range of spirituality, faith and belief systems. Demonstrates advanced skills in group communications and group/team processes, including skills of facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution. Understands the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education structure and function. Understands the nature of spiritual care and counselling services in an acute and continuing care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Status in Supervised Spiritual Education (SPE) Clinical Spiritual Education (CPE). Training needs to be provided by an accredited Canadian Association of Spiritual Practice and Education (CAPPE/ACPEP) training facility or its equivalent.
