Required Qualifications:

Formal Education: Grade XII diploma or equivalent required. Post secondary Accounting diploma or Major in Commerce / Business required. Accounting Designation: CPA required. Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting setting required, with progressive supervisory experience. Experience in health care sector desired. Experience in an automated information system environment desired.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Special Knowledge/Skills: Thorough working knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. A willingness and ability to acquire additional software skills as required. Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills required. Able to analyze, interpret and provide advice to internal and external parties with highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to work within a team–oriented approach to tasks and ability to communicate with all levels of staff required. Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and delegate effectively. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. Ability to distinguish independent decisions from decisions that should be referred upward is essential. Ability to balance attention to detail with the big picture perspective. Working knowledge of the financial services function in healthcare desired. Knowledge of organizational change management. Ability to analyze business processes and business specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Analytical reasoning and problem solving skills. Knowledge of internal and external reporting requirements. Knowledge, interpretation and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information required. Knowledge of ORACLE financial system desired.
