Required Qualifications:

Completion of Baccalaureate degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Equivalencies will be considered. Minimum of five (5) years to eight (8) years at the Advisor level, including progressive supervisory/management experience, required. Experience in a unionized environment is required and within healthcare is preferred.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of collective agreements, and related legislation (e.g., Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), Employee Standards). Understanding and commitment to Covenant Mission, Vision, and Values. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and listening skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in a co-operative, respectful, and sensitive manner with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including all levels of the organization. Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and group facilitation skills. Must have ability to travel between sites. Demonstrated ability to handle concerns and investigations while maintaining discretion, diplomacy and tact. Must be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, exercise sound judgement, and be extremely flexible in managing variable and unpredictable situations with strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong commitment to participation within a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated excellence in customer service and commitment to support quality health care. Understanding of ethics, and a commitment to work within the Covenant Health ethical framework. Strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills. Building consensus within a diverse group of stakeholders. Work within established financial and budgetary resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Evidence of commitment to patient/resident centred approach to health care. Ability to maintain composure under constant pressure and stress while maintaining a high level of involvement in confrontational situations while facing tight deadlines. Ability to handle highly confidential/sensitive issues, and emotional circumstances tactfully and diplomatically. Ability to diplomatically handle numerous interruptions. Must be prepared to travel to and work between Covenant Sites.
