Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field, i.e., Nursing, Allied Health, etc. Certification in Infection Control (CIC), i.e., IPAC. Current registration with applicable professional regulatory body, i.e., CARNA. Minimum required: 5 years as an Infection Control Professional.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Progressive management experience in healthcare. Successful record of achievement as a leader with diverse range of functions. Practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership, project management and program development. Knowledge and demonstrated application of business planning, program and management theory. Strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Practical communication skills coupled with strong organizational skills, patient-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to manage change with innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources in a changing and multifaceted environment with diverse, complex and sensitive issues. Proven ability to foster partnerships and achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and manage within a unionized sector. 7-10 years in Infection Prevention & Control in a healthcare environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Related Master’s degree preferred. Equivalencies in education and experience may be considered - Healthcare-related fields (Nursing, Allied Health) or Business-related degrees with a focus in health care infection prevention and control, microbiology, or epidemiology. Equivalences in experience may be considered - Combination of education and experience (baccalaureate degree and 3-5 years, master’s degree and 1-2 years).
