We are seeking a confident and experienced operational leader to join our team as a Consultant, Clinical Services & Compensation. This is a fast-paced and highly collaborative leadership role responsible for supporting and optimizing alternate care provider services across multiple acute care programs and hospital sites. The successful candidate will oversee a complex provider portfolio that supports patient care delivery 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This role requires an individual who is comfortable leading teams, managing complex operational challenges, navigating physician and stakeholder relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic healthcare environment. As a key operational partner to physician leaders, site leadership, and senior administration, the Consultant plays a critical role in workforce planning, provider recruitment and onboarding, scheduling oversight, performance management processes, and development of sustainable coverage models that support safe, effective patient care. This position is ideal for a strong healthcare leader who thrives in operational environments requiring autonomy, accountability, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities while building strong working relationships across clinical and operational teams. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated leadership experience, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage a complex and evolving portfolio. Experience leading operational teams, driving process improvement, and supporting healthcare service delivery within acute care environments is strongly preferred.
Description:
The Consultant is a strategic operational leader responsible for the oversight, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Alternate Care Provider portfolio across multiple acute care programs and sites. This role provides operational leadership for employed and contracted alternate care providers, ensuring safe, sustainable, and high-quality clinical coverage models that support patient care delivery 24/7. Reporting to the Manager, the Consultant partners closely with physician leaders, operational leaders, unit managers, and senior administration to support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, provider performance, and implementation of sustainable coverage models aligned with operational priorities. The Consultant functions with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced healthcare environment, requiring strong leadership, sound judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to manage complex operational priorities simultaneously. This role requires a confident leader who can navigate stakeholder relationships, lead change initiatives, and respond effectively to evolving service demands. The consultant provides strategic guidance related to provider utilization, policy interpretation, program redesign, and service optimization. Responsibilities include operational oversight, workforce stabilization, provider scheduling and performance processes, development of staffing models, and collaboration with medical leadership, Human Resources, Finance, and operational teams. The ideal candidate is a highly organized healthcare leader with strong operational management experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to independently manage a complex portfolio while driving operational improvements and team effectiveness.

Baccalaureate with a Health-related focus, Business Administration, or related field. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership, physicians, and administrative personnel. Proven ability to maintain the highest levels of diplomacy, confidentiality, and professional integrity in complex situations. Advanced conflict resolution and negotiation skills with experience mediating sensitive.
Additional Required Qualifications:Five (5) years progressive experience in healthcare administration with demonstrable expertise in provider management and strategic program oversight. Demonstrated experience managing complex service contracts and performance management frameworks. Experience leading and supervising administrative staff, including conducting performance evaluations and professional development. Proven ability to analyze financial data, understand budgetary implications, and make sound recommendations that balance clinical needs with fiscal responsibility. Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and service improvement initiatives. provider-related matters. Superior project management capabilities with demonstrated success in leading cross functional initiatives. Advanced computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, healthcare information systems, and data analysis tools. Exceptional organizational abilities with demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s in nursing or relevant healthcare masters. 4 to 6 years supervisory experience. Experience in healthcare facility operations with knowledge of physician and alternate provider services. Familiarity with the personnel management and payment systems. Advanced proficiency in data analysis, report generation, and presentation development. Strong critical thinking and strategic insight.
