Registered Nurse from recognized school of nursing required. Post graduate O.R. nursing course required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) required. Minimum of five years clinical experience in Operating Room required.
Additional Required Qualifications:IV (Intravenous) certification. Diversified experience and knowledge in OR procedures. Diversified experience and knowledge in PARR. Open, honest, interpersonal relationship skills. Tactful, positive reinforcement style. Excellent verbal and written communication. Proficient computer skills including windows office programs. Ability to present in front of large audiences. Advocate of staff, patients, and families. Self motivated, self directed. Conflict resolutions skills. Able to set priorities in such a diversified clinical environment. Clinical role model. Teaching and leadership skills. Willingness to participate in education initiatives relevant to the role. Ability to identify problems, suggest resolutions and implement same. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Registered member of ORNAC & NPANc. Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with, interdisciplinary team members, personnel from other hospital departments and regional educational facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:Critical care experience preferred. Combination of education and experience may be considered. Clinical experience PARR an asset. Previous leadership and mentoring experience preferred. Previous staff teaching experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Research skills preferred. Project work experience an asset.
