Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) specifying the Advanced Orthopedic area of specialized practice is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent experience within the last 2 years in a high-volume, Urban Emergency department OR Recent ICU/CCU experience OR Two years Medical/Surgical/Labor and Delivery experience required. Excellent assessment and organizational skills required. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. PLEASE NOTE: This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 of the posting end date but may be filled earlier under LOU #20 if a regular employee of the same classification who holds a regular position within this unit expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 on the 5th calendar day following the posting date. Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and EPIC. Experience and ability to work with cardiac monitors preferred. Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation of ECG’s preferred. Experience with Connect Care EHR an asset.
