Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) specifying the Advanced Orthopedic area of specialized practice is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopedic Technician program. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in an emergency department. Previous experience in an Acute Care, Cast Clinic, Med/Surg. Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and EPIC. Experience and ability to work with cardiac monitors preferred. Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation of ECG’s preferred. Experience with Connect Care EHR an asset.
