Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a Pharmacy Team Lead at St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose, a key role at the heart of our hospital’s pharmacy operations. You will provide on-site leadership, guiding pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy services. In this role, you will coordinate resources, solve operational challenges, and ensure the smooth, daily delivery of pharmacy programs, all while demonstrating Covenant Health’s values. In collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will manage patient medication therapy, identify and resolve drug-related problems, and develop and implement personalized medication plans that optimize patient outcomes. You will actively participate in patient care rounds, liaise with healthcare team members, and build professional relationships with patients and their families. This role also offers opportunities to mentor and precept staff and students, while maintaining your own professional growth and clinical expertise. Description: The Pharmacist II is responsible for the provision of safe, effective, and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. The Pharmacist I manages medication therapy by assessing patients for potential and actual drug related problems and intervening as required to optimize patient outcomes. The Pharmacist II is the supervisor or clinical lead responsible for the daily activities of the Pharmacy Department. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is required. Registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Pharmacist experience in a hospital setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Collaborative experience as part of a multi-disciplinary patient care team. Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations, generic and brand names, pharmacy laws and regulations, calculations, and dispensary function.

Preferred Qualifications:

Management or supervisory experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting. Experience providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a hospital environment. Familiarity with computer-based medication order entry, IV admixture, and unit dose drug distribution. Additional Prescribing Authorization (ACP). Authorization to administer injections (ACP).
