Description: The Pharmacist II is responsible for the provision of safe, effective, and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. The Pharmacist I manages medication therapy by assessing patients for potential and actual drug related problems and intervening as required to optimize patient outcomes. The Pharmacist II is the supervisor or clinical lead responsible for the daily activities of the Pharmacy Department. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is required. Registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Pharmacist experience in a hospital setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Collaborative experience as part of a multi-disciplinary patient care team. Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations, generic and brand names, pharmacy laws and regulations, calculations, and dispensary function.

Preferred Qualifications:

Management or supervisory experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting. Experience providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a hospital environment. Familiarity with computer-based medication order entry, IV admixture, and unit dose drug distribution. Additional Prescribing Authorization (ACP). Authorization to administer injections (ACP).
