Description:

The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for a variety of medication related duties including the ordering, preparation, packaging, shipping, distribution and maintenance of controlled medication inventories. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 408 St. Michael's Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or recognized equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent experience in a community, hospital, or centralized medication preparation setting with demonstrated knowledge of medication distribution processes and pharmacy workflow. Must be proficient with technology and ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work in teams and independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Assistant course is preferred. Experience using Epic, with familiarity in Connect Care workflows. Experience with Kroll, AutoMed or other pharmacy automation and dispensing technologies. Experience supporting medication distribution to healthcare facilities such as hospitals or care centers.
