Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program or recognized equivalent required Active registration with Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) required
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of two (2) years recent hospital pharmacy experience. Medical terminology, pharmacy abbreviations, generic and brand names, pharmacy law, calculations, aseptic technique, and dispensary functions knowledge required. Numerical and clerical abilities: visual and auditory acuity, manual dexterity, motor coordination required. Good organizational and problem solving ability. Must be alert, accurate, reliable, precise and self-motivated. Computers/printers/pharmacy computer systems. Conflict resolution skills. Remains calm and composed in stressful situations. Negotiation skills. Excellent communication; verbal and written. Positive attitude and resilient. Works well with a team and independently; self-motivated and directed. Open, honest interpersonal relationship skills. Able to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment. Registered with Alberta College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Technician. Drivers license is required for travel between sites and provincially. Project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience with safety initiatives in site-specific hospital pharmacy. Experience with computer medication order entry, IV admixture and unit dose drug distribution. Experience with Excel and Access software.
