Your Opportunity:
As a Pharmacy Technician at Misericordia Hospital, you will practice to your full scope, supporting safe and effective patient care. You’ll manage all aspects of drug distribution, including order entry, preparation, sterile and non-sterile compounding, repackaging, selection, and final product checking, while providing clinical support for medication reconciliation and mentoring staff and students. Collaborating closely with the healthcare team, you’ll help clarify orders, resolve distribution questions, and contribute to special projects that enhance departmental operations. You’ll also maintain high performance standards through ongoing competency programs and manage records and reports, all while growing your professional skills and making a meaningful impact on patient care. Description:
The Pharmacy Technician I provides technical and operational assistance to the Pharmacy Department in the preparation, checking, distribution and procurement of pharmaceuticals. The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) required.

Preferred Qualifications:Recent hospital pharmacy experience. Use of Epic software/familiarity with Connect Care workflows.
